The question

Using IF with OR, show Free if the order is 1000 or more or the customer is a member, otherwise Paid. Fill D2 to D4.

The data

ABCD
1OrderAmountMemberShipping
2O-11200No?
3O-2600Yes?
4O-3450No?

The yellow cells are where your answer goes.

Show answer

Expected results:

  • D2 = Free
  • D3 = Free
  • D4 = Paid

How it works

Explanation: OR inside IF makes the result true when at least one condition is true.
Syntax: =IF(OR(B2>=1000,C2="Yes"),"Free","Paid")
O-1: amount 1200 qualifies, so Free. O-2: a member, so Free. O-3: small order and not a member, so Paid.
