The question

A zero reading is still a reading. Using COUNT, find how many readings were recorded (blank means not taken) and put it in B8.

The data

AB
1DayReading
2D112
3D20
4D315
5D4
6D59
7D60
8Readings?

The yellow cell is where your answer goes.

Show answer

Answer in B8: 5

How it works

Explanation: COUNT treats 0 as a number, so zeros are counted. Only blanks and text are left out.
Syntax: =COUNT(B2:B7)
12, 0, 15, 9 and 0 are numbers, so the count is 5. Only D4 is blank.
